Handelaar Joeja was adviseur van de farao's Thut-mosis IV (1397-1388) en Amen-hotep III (1388-1351). Hij was een immigrant in Egypte, woonachtig in Akhmim (Opper-Egypte) aan de Nijl, stroomafwaarts van de koningsstad. Gezien de schrijfwijze van zijn naam was hij waarschijnlijk dezelfde persoon als Jozef, die later als elfde zoon toegevoegd is aan de stamboom van Jakob.
Joeja was getrouwd met Toeja (Anath), een Egyptische edelvrouw. Hun dochter Teje (geboren 1398) werd koningin in 1388, als vrouw van Amen-hotep III, en hun zoon Eje (geboren 1376) werd farao in 1323, als man van Ankh-es-en-Amon.

Trader Yuya was counselor of the Pharaohs Thut-mosis IV (1397-1388) and Amen-hotep III (1388-1351). He was an immigrant in Egypt, living in Akhmim (Upper Egypt) at the Nile, downstream of the royal city. Given the spelling of his name, he was probably the same person as Joseph, who later was added as the eleventh son on the family tree of Jacob.
• Yuya was married to Tuya (Anath), an Egyptian noblewoman. Their daughter Tiye (born 1398) became Queen in 1388, as the wife of Amen-hotep III, and their son Ay (born 1376) became pharaoh in 1323, as the husband of Ankh-es-en-amon.

Juja war verheiratet mit Tuja (Anath), eine ägyptischen Edelfrau. Ihre Tochter Teje (geb. 1398) wurde 1388 Königin, als Ehefrau von Amen-horep III, und ihr Sohn Eje (geb. 1376) wurde 1323 Pharao, als Ehemann von Ankh-es-en-Amon.
