Zywa Everything is blue, and pink

I squat against a high wall
hands in my head
slide to twelve

I'm there, I'm not there
Smoke, journey, resting place
full moon

Buzzing, six, sixteen

water reflections

Rattling wallpaper
Thumb after thumb I put
a stamp upon the days

Winds blow past
everything is blue
yes, everything

sharp blue
and pink in the world

Zywa Songless Song

Was I waked
by rattling buckets
like ticking rain

against the roar
the whistling inhalation
and the musing sighs

of the organ monster?
Curved pipes blow me
into space, everything shifts

until I no longer have a hold
and my body dissolves in trance
between wringing sounds

Compact like a saucer
I swing increasingly heavy
through octaves of space debris

with withheld breath
looking forward to the redeeming
light of the eternally distant

gravity, which will
melt and burn me
if I ever arrive

A false siren song lures me
with harmonies in which
the dashboard lights up

my thoughts clear again
to chart a course
and go away

from this depression
as if there are destinations
Hope and desire

tumble through the stardust
like the splashing water
from the sources of the Moldau

The monster roars again -
Maddening at the risk
of bursting asunder

and dispersing
in debris, ticking
against the silence

like the end of a downpour
But after the calm masses roll
towering over it, ever

I float
between dream and deed
Sleeplessly

I babble a bit
wading in acquiescence
Songless

Zywa Groaning, I hold on

In the whirlpools, people puff
and scream for help
The spectators whisper

the last gossip
until the poets hand
shoves them away, looking

for the right tone
He's just messing about
because the Way is the Truth

of all votes against
Everyone gags for meaning
in a livable rhythm

Groaning, I hold on
They are talking about me
I hear it in the breaks

This is how it will go on
with an occasional blow
hoping it is a hit

It is fiddling and tinkering
keep breathing calmly
and not short-circuiting

Zywa Into myself

The rippling sings
for me, only I
am here, it plays
with itself and it sings

so beautifully and clearly
for me, everything
caresses me with colours
and is loving me

it exults and dances
charms
above and below
disappear

I exist, I can no longer
think, satisfied I am
sinking into the scent
of my seed

dressed in the spotty light
of rocking water
I am merging with you
and you sing, you sing!

Zywa The Roarer

The storm is still there
moldy white around the holes
of the filigree that was
once a powerful building

deeply weathered and pulverised
with hard droppings and kapok
in the corner, a dead fly

Shards tinkle under
my shoes, the remains
sloshing rhythmically away
from my footsteps

Everything falls prey
to the daily hunger
of the light, the sun

which smears honey
on the old stones
and fertilizes the cracks
sends spiders, makes birds

whistle springs
until what was there
is invisible

as the heart of our lives
splashing sparks upon the earth

battles break through the screens

from grumbling depths, the water
burning broadly under a high flame

which explodes into a super sun
which shouts and fills the sky
twirls and scorches the earth

Zywa All colours within me

With star fish, the comet sparks
a swarm of sperm cells, they shoot

Fertilised a thousand times, I roll
on waves welling up in a rain of light

My body dissolves in the deep blue
where far away the stars twinkle forever
A soul of fiery tongues licks
a new body inside me

and the world tilts in all colours
in my kaleidoscopic eyes
while thin, tall angels dance
between the sky-high pillars

Zywa My mask

The plaster pulls the skin
my colour, my moles
and careful make-up
from my face

Red
living flesh
looking eyes
expressive lips, my mouth
smiling at you

     And you scan my mask
     three-dimensionally, you hang
     a field of registration points
     on the red markings
at my eyes, nose, and chin

     You trace back the dots
     to feelings, then you look
     at me, understandingly
     From the void
     of my eyes and mouth

     the black holes
     in the information
     I try to articulate
     what you can't see
     Still, they don't show anything

Zywa Blind heroes

I hesitate pressing my feet
on the narrow path through the marsh
cautiously gaining confidence
to return to the world

Dancing elves in the diffused light
maybe it's will-o'-the-wisp
trying to drown me

My wishes are groping around
in the mist of uncertainty
as blind heroes on the run
from themselves

and searching for the courage
that hides
between light and dark

Inside me there's a buzz
the song of an air
bursting into the open
and leaping in the world

I go after it
and play with the light
in the dark

Zywa Safely in the dark

Safely in the dark
experiencing the dark
in theatres and music
halls: light and dark

and in the light a play
of persons or sounds
the light and dark
of a tormented heart

wandering in the twilight
between high tones of hope
and a deep fear
of one's own destiny

I witness it
safely in the dark

In the wheels of life
the spokes of the night
and the day seem to turn against
each other, as a whirlpool

that pulls me along
and plays with me
I give in
lose myself

safely in the dark

croaking and twittering
disorderly, merrily
they run wild

dip animals pop up
softly they knock

but is drowned out

Zywa From heart to heart

I dance best listening
to music, the sun shines
in the brass, angels

sing from mouths of gold
and the animals prick up their ears
everything goes round, joy

parades ahead of us
from heart to heart
spring turns into summer

we change our steps
fly up jubilantly
and flutter down

in open hands
autumn turns into winter
yonder we see the house

with the roses around
our bridal bed, everyone dances
at the feast, the sun shines

in the brass, angels
sing from mouths of gold
and the animals prick up their ears

everything goes round, joy
from heart to heart, love
from parent to child

Zywa Preacher

Refreshed the sun leaves the bed
of the starry night, the tent
where his bride will wait

Cheerful like a hero
he runs over the afternoon
and the evening, back

to her body
That's how David sees God's hand
in the sky and the world

mounted in it, so beautiful
must His greatness be
for those considering
that it cannot be otherwise:
the sun rises
and goes down

In amazement
we look
at each other

Zywa Sanctified body

There must be a sanctuary here
so clear are the bells inviting
me, then here, then there

the ordinary recedes, opening
pieces of heaven, commm commm
commm tolls a big bell

Children dance me in
where the organ exults in light light
A breaker puts down weights

they are also sacred here
He rolls out his voice and builds
ever heavier walls

without the blood in the darkness
of his veins knowing what is happening
and not being able to imagine it

Over there people are dancing arm in arm
closer by the noise ebbs away
in repeated syllable cries

Rumbling in the distance
In the thin atmosphere I whistle
myself a body

Zywa Substream

Under our blue-green satisfaction
tightened smoothly by the beautiful day
a stream drives us into the mountain

In wide tunnel streets we glide
through the black light past
stalacmummies and stalagdaddies and

echoes of processions, a Siren
is barefooted singing for rain, clearly
the drops fall from her mouth

Ahead, musicians celebrate the seized time
For them each day is a treat
in the caves of the shadows

where there are no seasons, no toilets
where no one is naked, no one caressed
and no one has access

to the hidden chambers
of clotted pain, the cavities of heavens
full of stars in the belly of the mountain

without babies, guarded by brigades
of bats, our hearts are pounding
like volcanoes through the galleries

because something is trembling itself
maybe even free to the sun -
but it blows over

Zywa Quiet middle

In deep repose, my body
in infinite space
in the quiet middle

of the galaxies
slowly around me -
my thoughts stray in time

between the rush hours, loose
between the sounds waving in
between the blowing net curtain

and fading away
Clearly I hear the voice
of a free string

in the rhythms of traffic
in flurries of gamelan and conga
in sound sequences and interludes

on an autumn afternoon
and in front of me in the hall
sits a handsome man

Zywa Tenuous hopes

Between ruins, man sings
out hope that rebuilds houses
a song that survives

when the fury has raged again
how thin like hot steaming souls
above the dung heap the voices

may sound between the hills
of toil, elsewhere modest
in holy places with undertones

of severity of rock-solid
brethren in the fury of desires
which drags freedom away

and smears it with blood
and tears or beats it to death
in its chains

I get tired of hoarsely calling
sounds that don't form
words, an echo
is the low response

and so I just start
a conversation with that
fluttering back and forth
in subterranean caves

full of silver-eel
silently and listening
to the echo
that doesn't ask for me

Together it sounded better
but she deserves a voice of her own
and I wait to demonstrate how
the space sounds

come, we do it together
And so on
severally again
This is only part 2

Cleanliness and routine
a blessing of calm

giving me energy

I jump to the fruit, ripe and green
every day again, it has no end

as long as it lasts -
until I write smaller and smaller
circles around my centre
under the caprices

A blessing of calm
cleanliness and routine

Zywa Stationary dance

Reading slowly, with pauses
may have the sound of poetry
Also playing that way

on the piano is not by itself
a vault arch or dance
from Sparta or Knossos

Yet there is an urge
compelling artistic souls
to waste their lives

for their part, searching
the roots
of preferably all

that is vibrating on earth
at least those of mankind
to unfold them

in spaces of silence

Zywa Into the unbound

I do start to listen
but it is a concert
for aware Buddhists
that turns off your senses
The organ is grunting Om

and after 20 minutes I wonder
who Í am, who the others are

without coughing bound
to their chair, by one tone, close
to each other, but not enough
alone to meditate
into the unbound

Another 45 minutes
of silence in conclusion
Only the rustle
of the 72 blowing eyes
of the air ceiling

Poem 1004
Amsterdam, 2017-02-12

Zywa Twistering

There is always something going on
but what can I do about it?

Dancing on the pedals
I already have to pull
in and out so many registrations
hammering the deliberate
score parade on 168 keys

I twister the best years
of my life, it's a treat
I don't want to miss
Yes, have a look
at my bald spot, do dream
indecent thoughts

I persevere
and you are out

Zywa Sand pendulum

To sustaining tones, the material
world draws a trail in smooth loops
from a bottle hanging askew
on its navel string and running

empty over the blue rug
of awareness
of all who are there
A pendulum thought

More and more light shines
through the bottle and the wind
in our senses
wipes out the patterns

we have repeated
into a magical eight
of insight into the infinite
course of our lives

Zywa Blue love

Stars above the high
fort of pipes, our gate of heaven
spaceship, diving bell

gliding saucer
20,000 leagues under the sea
with panoramic window

in the blue night
on our way between points of light
in the pulsating beauty

of the heart of the cosmos
where the stars are falling
in time like water

On veiled tones
we reach and reach
we travel and travel

in blue love
starry love, stroking
through stalks, reed, leaves

We want to kiss
everything endlessly
Your hands and mine

blending pink together
our arms are waving
corals of our heart

Zywa A new register

Being old, yet
wanting another
new register

Getting started
to tune it
Not letting me be deterred

by discords and hitches
Dripping practice oil
and listening attentively

till I hear myself
in the new voice
in my new tones

and keys, dozens
of pipes in the case
of my life added

Zywa Buttocks outside

Zooming outside
roaring and approaching
rattling

working like crazy
shifting earth
weeding massively

resisting, rebuilding
perhaps, hard labour
if you can say so

of machines
My walls still stand
There's light in

my comfortable home
my resigned home
The revolution rumbles

away if I would
have a look
have the nerve

to open the curtain
then I might see
her buttocks

ugly buttocks
big white buttocks
in a ploughed up landscape

Zywa Celestial music

It's not celestial music
It's a bathroom girl

singing flowers through her ceiling
and dropping the bath-towel
from her breasts at my door

It may end up with a daughter
I still think a lifetime later

too deaf to hear how
she is singing, so I long
for celestial music

counting my steps
in the soft sand

one two three four

one two three four five six
seven eight

from fingers to abacus and further
to formulas and then their simplification
E = mc2
two three four one

Zywa Light out

The master basses
My body dissolves
in a circle of banishments

pushing the crowd away
into underground whispering
Formulas Memories

We know everything
You again! You too, mud
We too, breathe

Keep breathing, we know
again. Only you, of all dust
You again! Mud, you too

High tones wring
with the hall also me
ever longer and thinner

around my axis into a strand
You must, you must, you must
You again! Ache, wipe yourself

out, breathe, breathe out

Zywa Light in

Main Station unknown
entangled in sounds of trains
and voices, cathedral-high

the central hall
where I stand tense
in a column of light

riddled with words echoing
down from the dome, pinning myself
down in my place

Everyone moves but
for me there's no space
My initiation?

A sacrificial ritual?
High voltage grunts
through the texts

crying ditch
animals desecrate the hall
put the pool under pressure

We know everything

Zywa Falling in heaven

From the ordinary world
called together here
we drink and talk a little

we forget our agenda
and worries, dance and are ourselves:
a garden party around the barrel organ

Love carousels waltzing
free garlands with insects
in shrubs with a swinging sweet smell

they sing and whirl
they pull loose our decency
and we marvel

at today's magic
we rock ourselves
in the love of all-

embracing hands, we
fasten the sun, roses
we do not need

no moon either, no beds
and the children fall
roaring into heaven

Zywa Breathe Sun

Sometimes my eyes open
in the dark and my ears hear
the first bird listening

to its first tone, waiting
for a second voice, veiled
in the night haze between the branches

Each in its own tree, alone together
Half scales. They get loose
their breasts swell and deflate

Toomm peehh oooh as if
they start a conversation, but still
prefer to hear themselves, going

to the next tone, for a moment falling
silent when it really becomes light
A droning plane in the distance

Thennn inhale more deeply
and fully, reaching higher
and drowning out everything

cutting sharply, not letting the air
fray, but thrill, crescendo
and crossed: here I am, hear me

no, me! and the sun rises
filling lungs, muscles and thoughts:
it will be a beautiful day

Zywa Airways

Floating conversations in the park
strollers breathe their thoughts

out into airways above the paths
that on the way dissolve wordless

in the minds hazy sounds
togetherness angelic language

whispering questions living
in the blood fears and sadness

an open circuit stowed around
by an invisible heart

an ignorant heart searching
to understand what it loves

in the running life
of unsolved cases

Zywa Leaking into new blood

All the waste is blowing
in the same direction
Over wet snow

hot and cutting grass
dry leaves
It gets dark

and light again
dark and light, the sky
wears the spores

frozen, burned
to invisible
the earth, the earth

fertilizes the powders:
leaking into new blood
between skin and bones

feeling flesh in the wind
over the wet, the hot
cutting and dry existence

Zywa The apple

I do remember
windows, disappeared

somewhere in the invisible
building, outside

the half egg of space
that creates a weak light

in the darkness -
floating dust particles

and a flat floor field
of vibrating spots

in which, bitten, beside a cover
the apple of questioning shines:

what do I see
where am I

in what way is it developing
whither, wherefore, since when

why is this so
and who am I then?

Zywa Sleeper dyke

Sleeper dyke, sheep dyke
on the flats, not much happens

Gray on gray the slow breath
of night and day, shreds

of heartbeatless noise and waves
of screaming seagulls, silver-

glare on the sea
the slime trail of a snail

Nowhere blood, just some feathers
shells of past life

and silent sighs from the universe
Without a dyke I would disappear

to nowhere, oh how I ache
for you

Zywa Meanwhile something else

Answer to the fromquestion
What was first
chicken or egg?
The fried egg chicken

Proudly she stands
on unyielding legs
in her broken egg

Answer to the toquestion
What will be last?
God's son
spreads his arms

he jumps from the cross
as the winner: the fried egg man!
Applause

everything will be fine
people, wait patiently
we’ve got time

two thousand years
are already over, and meanwhile
we do something else

Zywa The fish fly

The great sea
foams impetuously
The ships are struggling

through, dive up
from the waves, again and again
on their way to the port

that tames the wild water
The fish fly
out of the hands of the skippers
quickly ashore, to high piles

under the brown-red sky
of the setting sun
and the ships leap up

On the dark horizon
the sea is dreaming restlessly
in a night without time

Zywa Siesta

Siesta, angelic music
strews holy words in my ears

draws them on the front and the back
in relief in the auricles. Am I dozing

or has someone awakened
the flowers? I lie so comfortably

in the sun, safe in the green
field, my face blushes blue

from the royal chalice between my legs
the flowers just laugh and sing

The work is done, yes I doze
of holiness

Zywa The blue boy

In darkness the very first
awakening

of light that ignites in stars everywhere
in space existing just now

by strands of galaxies
slung apart, the string

of the bow, everything is vibrating, and
nobody knows about arrow and target

A spirit begins
to be aware, fertile

purple calyxes in large dark green leaves
the self-fertilizing egg

that the unloved woman desires
to become pregnant

Zywa The vow

In silence and darkness
we come together – solemnly

the vow is brought in
We solemnly light our candles

with the candles, we sing thanks, sing
for our ancestors, the panthers – solemnly

We praise the lion of reason
We feed the dove of peace

We ask the blessing of the phoenix that watches
over our children and grandchildren

We repeat the vow – solemnly

    Panterbe impartial
    Lionkill if necessary
    Dovedon’t betray anyone
    Phoenixtake care of everyone

We are the panther and the lion
we are the dove and the phoenix

that is our vow

to each other and to our children
hand in hand in hand – solemnly

Zywa Sorcerer's apprentices in the haze

It bangs it bubbles
it twinkles it grows it is
a hive of activity, each molecule
a sorcerer’s apprentice in the smithy
without smith, the creation
of multiple existence

crystal clear fermenting in the haze
it tumbles it steams it connects
water and fire, chains of reactions
stable series hook together, swish
push forward in lines ahead ahead
it bangs it bubbles it grows

the world in tinkling processes
tries out and invents itself
sweeps with squalls, shuffles in waves
dances and sings little bells in the water
ahead ahead the sorcerers fall
and fall over each other

A feather stick makes wind
over the ripples of the keyboard

dust whirling up and down
from the swaying

Again and again a run-up
And the light beaming through

The storm plays with the beach
it winnows, just toss it, and toss it

Sand ripples along the sea
The horn of a late guest

Last notes, last gusts
the wind lies down on the edge

of the old sea
and the new land

Zywa Now the hour?

Rumbling thunder, the world trembles
by heavenly hand, stormy air
shakes the earth
Consuming fire

enveloped in massive black smoke
from further than visible
strikes into the earth, burns
an anchor in its core

Is this the day of wrath, now

the hour, the breaking
of the seals, the seething
of the winds, the pounding
of the hearts?

Like war horses swarms of locusts
roar out of the smoke, they fume
sulphur, stab like scorpions
storm ahead and beat the drum

Stop

Zywa Call of the owl

It starts in the little square
in the evening. Fresh air
The palms relax

Soft light from oil lamps
An owl calls, the snake-
charmer opens the baskets

blowing his whistle. Turmoil in the trees
a bird paradise. Slim
boys stretch themselves

The drum brings the wheel
in motion, a spider prince
puts his arms and legs

down on the tones of the flute
and dances around the time wheel
The snakes are raising

Just before I fall asleep
rolled up in my basket
the owl calls again

Zywa Song of the sea

Slowly I sink away, into the deep sea
the full sea: I get dizzy from shoals
of fish shooting away and still being there

In the light above me glides the white
ship of a swan over
the bubbles from my mouth

I hear cricketsong in the high grass
a seagull flies over, warning
and veering, waves roll up

tumble over each other
break and plunge in their trough
out of which I emerge breathing

Zywa Rainbow

No one paid attention

till the water poured over
the mountain ridge into the lake
It was raining all summer
a dense gray aerial

sea shed
as a world ocean
over the earth, a thick skin
of beating wood came flooding
up, do not mind the animals

Do not look for people
you knów
the old world
still bubbles up a bit
from the drowned trees

The water stretches
and tautens a flat mirror
under the sky and the rainbow
My boat floats
until it gets stranded

Zywa Smithy

It grinds, sparks and flies
hard bangs in a cave too large
and too dark to see
too deep to fathom
signals send heavy traffic

Stars bubble up, deep from the pan
they sparkle and search for a place in space
lightyears are soughing past
a hammer bangs in the white noise
it crackles new systems of infinity

The universe is embossed
star strings spin away
soughing through the nonexistent

Alchemy of creation
inside the flask it boils around
melting pot cauldron magic brew

Curtains of matter fall
past, everything flies far and small
traveling to nothing it creates nothingness

Zywa Waterpit

Four organs depart together
They stride with trailing legs
dashing but arduous
They wear the hats
of higher authority

Their trailing legs reach
backwards, longer and thinner
Their shoulders drop down
diagonally forward

They fall, the high top hats
crawl ahead with arms
swinging and mowing
through sand becoming weak
and mudding into water

Floundering, they draw
smaller and smaller circles
A smooth skin of water encloses them
and pits in, erasing everything in waves

Zywa Seven Seals

Dying is rarely gentle, but
nobody is retelling it

Muscles don't think but do so much
their best to save the doomed body
that you on the contrary perish

with hellish torture, because
all of a sudden time slows down

to eternity while
on the strokes of the last
hour the sky starlessly

gets black from a new sun, which swells
up to redeeming nothingness

Please forget this, live as if
seven seals protect you
Forget there comes an end

and how then

Zywa Fire

I break and hammer, cleave and create
my punches stretch, force the mark
I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid

     of spiders, rats or rattlesnakes

I toil and sweat, I pant for breath
the water is startled and whines an outcry
the bellows insufflate, swell ans aspirate
the flaming white iron bends

I break and hammer, cleave and create
my punches stretch, force the mark
I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid

of open air or a long corridor

arc after arc my arm carries out
the wishes of my master's eye
I hammer harder to hard
beat sparks out of my burning heart

I break and hammer, cleave and create
my punches stretch, force the mark
I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid

     of heights, neither of downfall

no sun is shining over here, there is no day
no morning, dusk or night, no time
is counting over here, just the sledgehammer blow
the rhythm of my punching strength

I break and hammer, cleave and create
my punches stretch, force the mark
I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid

of fears and their compulsion and urge
